Some of us like flower gardens, some of us like vegetable gardens. They are two sides to the same coin. There are so many different varieties of each type of veggie, that it can sometimes be hard to choose. The experienced staff here at Beier's Greenhouse will help you figure out which one you need.

Broccoli "Packman"

Fennel "Bronze"

MONSTER – Pepper Bell Green

Onion Sets

Onion Candy-This onion is well adapted throughout the country. Not affected by day length, it is called a day-neutral variety and will form bulbs in the North or South. The jumbo, globe-shaped bulbs are sweet and mild with lasting quality and good flavor.

 

Walla Walla-Mild giants famous for size and sweetness.  Produces flattened globe-shaped, golden-skinned bulbs up to 4 inches across.  A short keeper so use them first. Use onion plant starters to grow large, table onions (1-2” in diameter) and larger

 

Tasty Red- This onion is popular for it’s large size and incredible sweetness. When sliced it shows large, solid slices up to 4 inches across. It is at its most flavorful when used raw. It is most commonly used on Hamburgers.

 

Sweet Spanish- A globe-shaped yellow onion with a crisp, firm white flesh that keeps well. A long day onion, it develops late in the season in the North. In the South it makes scallions, or fresh green onions, when planted as a fall onion. Make sure the thick, heavy neck dries well, and it will store for several months in a cool, dry place.

Certified Seed Potatoes

Red Pontiac- Most popular red all purpose potato with very sweet white flesh. Thin skin makes a great keeper. Medium to Late Variety

Norland Reds- Produces a huge crop in a Hurry. Oblong, shallow eyed potatoes are crisp delicious and easy to peel. Great for boiling. Extra Early Variety

Burbank Russet- The classic russet baking potato. Tubers are oblong, medium sized. Excellent baking quality, also good boiled of fried. Stores well.

Fingerling- small finger shaped potato, great for roasting and grilling. Good in soups and stews.
